About Suite Spaces
Hi! I’m Gayle. From the time I was little, I loved to create. My mom was a stay-at-home mom with a passion for the creative. My siblings and I watched her sew our clothing, hand craft baskets and teddy bears, and decorate fabulous birthday cakes. (Seriously, she made me a 3D cake house when I was ten!) She designed her own curtains, arranged amazing vignettes around our home, and managed to love us like crazy in between. She has been my role model and teacher for almost 42 years … what an amazing gift from God!
As mom’s sewing machine hummed in the background, my sister and I started our own creative styling. We would drag out all our Barbie Dolls and start crafting rooms for them out of cardboard boxes, lined with old carpet remnants and wallpaper scraps. Velveeta cheese boxes morphed into countertops, deodorant caps became sinks, push pins acted as dials for our tin foil stove burners, and the little white plastic tripods used to keep cheese off of pizza box lids … stools, of course!
I have been blessed to be able to stay at home with my three children full-time for 13 years, a season of my life I wouldn’t trade for anything. As I looked for ways to contribute financially to my family, I started wondering if my love of interior decorating could somehow be the answer to my next job. I started by earning a certificate in interior design from the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. In 2012 I started Suite Spaces, an interior styling company based on the belief that you should “Style your Home to Reflect your Heart.” My services broadened in 2013 when I began purchasing used furniture and “re-loving” it with new paint. My first sale is on August 31 and September 1, 2013 at the Heart of Lancaster Arts and Crafts Show in Manheim, Pennsylvania. Stay tuned and I’ll tell you the rest of the story!
